A practical method
- Measure the full width, height, and depth of the opening before measuring the interior shelf.
- Sketch a top view. Draw the opening and interior shelf as separate outlines, then mark the door, trim, hinges, supports, shelf lip, and any nearby appliance.
- Use the smallest clear width, depth, and height along the path the organizer must travel. Do not substitute a larger back-wall measurement for a narrower opening.
